The Israeli military says it is “fully prepared” to continue “operations in the Gaza Strip,” but residents of the strip say it has been overrun by Israeli forces and they are calling for an immediate ceasefire.
The Israeli government has not said what it plans to do about the Israeli-Gaza conflict.
On Wednesday, Israeli troops killed four Palestinians in a separate attack, and on Friday, at least four people were killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a Jewish school in the coastal enclave.
Israeli forces have killed more than 2,000 Palestinians since the war began in July, according to the United Nations.
Residents of Gaza have complained of systematic harassment and violence by Israeli soldiers, including in areas where there is a heavy Israeli presence.
